A four-bedroom modern coastal home in Corrimal, sitting in the middle of the Illawarra - beaches within minutes, surrounded by cafes with the mountains right behind you.

Two living rooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a level fenced yard, so eight people can spread out without queuing for anything. Infrared sauna in the alfresco, Weber, cruiser bikes in the garage. Dogs are welcome, and a cubby house for the kids.

A separate 2-bedroom flat on site can be booked for bigger groups.

The Space

How a weekend here tends to go.

You arrive Friday afternoon, two cars in the driveway, bags dumped in the hall. Someone finds the sauna before anyone's unpacked.

Saturday starts slow. Coffee machine on. Then the cruiser bikes come out of the garage for a run down to one of the cafes, or you load the towels and drive five minutes to East Corrimal, Bellambi or Woonona. Bellambi's got a boat ramp. Half the beaches around here are dog-friendly, so the dog comes too.

If the surf isn't doing it, turn inland. The escarpment is minutes away, Mount Keira, the Delaware trails, mountain biking at Possums and Bulli Downhill. Golf at Russell Vale. Wollongong Botanic Garden and the Science Space when the weather turns.

Back by four. Weber going in the alfresco, someone claiming the sauna, the yard running until dark. Then the house does the thing it's built for: one living room goes quiet and comfortable, the other stays up with a bottle of wine. 

Sunday, nobody's in a rush. The coastal track from East Corrimal runs all the way to the Wollongong Lighthouse. Or point the car north over the Sea Cliff Bridge, in just twenty minutes you'll be on one of the greatest drives in the country.

Outside: fully fenced level yard, alfresco with infrared sauna, Weber BBQ, courtyard, outdoor dining table, cubby house. Cruiser bikes in the garage. Space for the dog.
